Ben Carlsen, owner
Ben graduated from the University of Washington in June of 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Forest Management. His studies included Minors in Fisheries Management and Conservation. Ben worked as a forester for Boise Cascade after graduating and until 2004 when he started with Pope Resources as an area forester. In 2013, Ben chose to step away from the security of Industry to pursue a full time career providing consulting services to a rapidly increasing number of clients as Carlsen Forestry Consulting.
In 2014, Ben partnered with Jesse Bloomfield to form Forest Management Solutions, LLC.
Jesse Bloomfield, owner
Jesse graduated from Washington State University in Pullman in May of 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management with an emphasis in Wildlife Management and a Minor in Forestry. In 2005, after several years rotating through seasonal jobs in South Dakota, Wyoming and Washington, Jesse accepted a forester's position with Olympic Resource Management, a Pope Resources company. As a forester for ORM, he was given the challenging and rewarding task of initiating forestry operations on several land acquisitions in Washington and Oregon.
Cole Robirds, forester
Hailing from Grays Harbor County, Cole came to FMS with a degree in forestry from Grays Harbor Community College and experience working in private industry and with the Washington Conservation Corps. He maintains a passion for the landscapes of the Pacific Northwest and makes full use of them by fishing and recreating with his family as much as possible.
Jon Carr, forester
Jon joined FMS in the summer of 2017 after spending four years working for the Washington Department of Ecology. Prior to that, Jon was a commercial fisherman in Alaska and residential contractor. He is currently a pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Forestry at Green River College.
